6 Tips for Success

We all want to feel successful in a myriad of different spheres in life. How do we know if we are on the right track? How do we really engage in the success trajectory? It’s different for everyone, and that’s okay! Here are 6 tips to help guide you to success:

  1. Believe in Yourself

  2. Set Boundaries

  3. Be Consistent

  4. Be Intentional

  5. Let Minutia Go

  6. Create Connections

Believe in Yourself is #1 for a reason. If you don’t believe in yourself then everything will begin to crumble and decay. Doubt is the termite of success. Fiercely believe in yourself, your capabilities, skills, passion, and sheer grit. Even if you have nothing more than a desire to believe, start right there and nurture that seed.

Setting boundaries is KEY! This cannot be emphasized enough. Every single day you are teaching people how to interact with you physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and socially. You are the one who needs to say “no” when you do not want to do something or you do not have the bandwidth. Know your boundaries so you can teach them to others.

Be consistent with your efforts. How many marathon runners do you know that never train or skip weeks of training? Less than 5%? Consistency will yield awesome results. Never underestimate the drop-by-drop efforts because they add up! Set up a routine that will allow for consistent work to be done on your goals. If you neglect to plan you plan to fail.

Be intentional with your day. There is so much demanding our time and attention. You must actively say “no” to things that distract you or that will derail you. We all have those activities we love to indulge in, but are they bringing you closer to your goals? Actively block out time during your day to dedicate time to your goals. This time needs to be sacred - it needs to be protected.

Let minutia go. Focus on things that are absolutely critical to accomplish. Is it more important to watch your favorite TV show or work on your dreams? Remove the minutia obstacles, and those look differently for everyone. Take some time to evaluate on where, what, and how you spend your time and energy. You may be surprised at where you’re bleeding out valuable time and energy.

Develop meaningful connections. Create connections with people that bring you to higher ground, that lift your spirits, and who want to see you succeed. There is a great deal of power in choosing your varsity players. When you’re actively seeking to accomplish your goals it is crucial to surround yourself with people who have your best interest, who care about your future, and who will encourage you to be your best.

These 6 tips will help you refine your success trajectory. Pick a few tips to work on and you’ll be amazed at the results.

Cheers to your success!
